Tsigrado Beach
the rope-and-ladder descent into a hidden turquoise cove with great snorkeling
Pocket cove reached by a short ladder and path. Turquoise water, soft sand, and a sense of discovery once you drop in.
In Tsigrado, Milos. Easy to fold into a morning or a longer afternoon; there's usually something else worth a stop within a few minutes' walk.
Tsigrado is a small, secluded cove on the southern coast of Milos (~11 km from Adamas), tucked between volcanic cliffs and accessed via a tricky descent down rock cracks using ropes followed by a wooden ladder — or more easily by boat. It has crystal-clear turquoise water, soft sand, and small caves, and is considered one of the island's best snorkeling spots, with arches and inlets to explore. It is an unorganized beach with essentially no facilities (no sunbeds, parasols, bars, or vendors), so visitors should bring water, snacks, and sun protection. The cove is very small, fitting only a handful of people comfortably, so it feels crowded quickly. Best visited mid-morning to mid-afternoon, as the sun drops behind the cliffs and the beach falls into shade by late afternoon; a clifftop viewpoint above rewards those who can't manage the descent. This corroborates the curator's note about the ladder, turquoise water, soft sand, and sense of discovery.
