Paralia Firopotamos
the sheltered turquoise bay framed by white chapels and arch ruins
Small, photogenic bay with turquoise water and white chapels. Arrive early for quiet swims and soft morning light.
In Firopotamos, Milos. Easy to fold into a morning or a longer afternoon; there's usually something else worth a stop within a few minutes' walk.
Firopotamos is a small former fishing village and beach on the north coast of Milos, about 10–15 minutes by car from Plaka/Adamas. The sheltered bay has calm, shallow, exceptionally clear turquoise water over sand and small pebbles, with tamarisk trees for shade and photogenic white chapels plus arched 'syrmata' boathouse ruins above the shore. It has no organized facilities (no sunbeds/umbrellas), so visitors bring their own essentials, and parking is scarce — confirming the curator's advice to arrive early. May–June and September are quieter than the July–August peak. Web research strongly corroborated the curator's notes.
