Kaffeemodul
championship-level espresso and filter from their own nomi roastery
Small, focused espresso bar. Quick service, clean shots, and a few seats. Best mid‑morning; peak hours are standing room.
In Josefstadt, Vienna. Easy to fold into a morning or a longer afternoon; there's usually something else worth a stop within a few minutes' walk.
Kaffeemodul is a celebrated hole-in-the-wall specialty coffee shop at Josefstätterstraße 35 in Vienna's 8th district (Josefstadt), opened in 2012 by Valentin and Boris—both 2016 Austrian coffee champions (Brewers Cup and Cup Tasting, the latter 4th at Worlds). It is famously tiny, serving espresso and filter coffee from their own nomi roastery, plus beans and brewing gear (Baratza grinders); cookies are the only food. It is rated 4.9 on Tripadvisor and widely listed among Vienna's best specialty coffee spots, praised for service, barista expertise, and coffee quality. Open Mon–Fri 7:30–17:30 and Sat 10:00–14:00. The notes' guidance to come mid-morning fits its small footprint and standing-room peaks.
