The Monocle Café & Shop Paris
The curated wall of global magazines and Monocle titles
Monocle's new Parisian café, nestled in the lively Montorgueil neighborhood, seamlessly blends the brand's understated elegance with authentic French café culture. The all-day venue serves expert coffee and fresh pastries from Terroirs d'Avenir in the morning, transitioning to light bites and curated wines later. With shelves of global publications and Monocle's own magazines, it's a sophisticated yet warm space where quick espressos naturally evolve into extended people-watching sessions – embodying the brand's cosmopolitan spirit while feeling perfectly at home in Paris.
In Montorgueil, Paris. Easy to fold into a morning or a longer afternoon; there's usually something else worth a stop within a few minutes' walk.
Monocle's first Paris café-boutique opened in 2025 at 16 Rue Bachaumont in the 2nd (Montorgueil), designed by Kann Design with a minimalist wooden interior, sunlit terrace, and a hidden radio booth. Open daily 8am–10pm, it serves Ten Belles coffee, Terroirs d'Avenir pastries, and Yabaï Sando Japanese sandwiches by day, transitioning to wines (€8–9.50), cocktails (€10–15), and cheese/charcuterie boards in the evening. Reviewers consistently praise the coffee (especially flat whites), the calm magazine-lined ambiance, and friendly staff; some flag prices as slightly above neighborhood-café average. The boutique features French collaborations (Arpin, Charvet, Bic, Tolix) alongside international press.
