The original micro-roastery and cafe of Cafezal, the Italian-Brazilian specialty coffee brand founded by Carlos Bitencourt (the name means coffee plantation in Portuguese), with the small roasting machine on display behind the counter. The stylish post-modern space in dark blue and copper tones is known for single-origin filter coffee, flat whites and signature salted caramel lattes, plus breakfast and pastries.
In Brera, Milan. Easy to fold into a morning or a longer afternoon; there's usually something else worth a stop within a few minutes' walk.
Owner is friendly to walk-ins; ask about the off-menu items. Reservations recommended Fri–Sat; walk-ins welcome earlier in the week.
