Casa Brivio
the Matteo Thun & Cassina interiors with a bespoke Brivio furniture collection
A 16-room boutique hotel in Milan's Carrobbio neighborhood, transformed from a noble family's palazzo by Matteo Thun & Partners. This design-forward hideaway channels 20th-century Milanese modernism with custom Cassina furniture, geometric boiserie, and terrazzo details.
In Carrobbio, Milan. Easy to fold into a morning or a longer afternoon; there's usually something else worth a stop within a few minutes' walk.
Casa Brivio is a 16-room boutique hotel in Milan's central Carrobbio district (south of Cinque Vie, ~10 min from the Duomo), created from a wing of a centuries-old palazzo still owned by the noble Brivio Sforza family — a passion project by cousins Filippo and Alberico. Matteo Thun & Partners led the renovation in collaboration with Cassina, producing a custom 'Brivio Collection' of furnishings and interiors that draw on 20th-century Milanese modernist icons like Gio Ponti and Piero Portaluppi. Rooms each have a distinct personality but share king-size beds, smart TVs, Nespresso machines, minibars, and Portaluppi-inspired bathrooms with premium toiletries. The property emphasizes privacy, intimacy, and personalized concierge service rather than on-site dining, spa, or rooftop amenities; no restaurant or bar is advertised. It suits design lovers, romantic getaways, and Salone del Mobile / Fashion Week visitors.
