Miradouro da Graça
the sunset view over Lisbon and the river
Hilltop terrace with tiled benches and wide river views. Sunset brings warm light, guitar strums, and slow city scenes.
In Graça, Lisbon. Easy to fold into a morning or a longer afternoon; there's usually something else worth a stop within a few minutes' walk.
Miradouro da Graça (officially Miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen) is a free public viewpoint on the Graça/Santo André hill, looking south over the historic centre with the castle in the foreground and the Tejo estuary beyond. It has a permanent open-air kiosk (Esplanada da Graça) serving coffee, drinks and simple food from morning until late, with tiled benches and pine trees on the terrace. Sunset is the prime-time draw, when the city lights come on and musicians regularly perform — matching the curator's note about warm light and guitar strums. It works well at any hour: morning coffee, a lazy afternoon with a book, or evening drinks with friends. The crowd is a relaxed mix of locals and visitors.
