the cinnamon and cardamom rolls

In Latin Quarter, Copenhagen. Easy to fold into a morning or a longer afternoon; there's usually something else worth a stop within a few minutes' walk.
Sankt Peders Bageri (Skt. Peders Bageri) is reputed to be Copenhagen's oldest bakery, set in a protected historic building at Sankt Peders Stræde 29 in the Latin Quarter / Indre By. It is celebrated above all for its cinnamon rolls, which reviewers praise as exceptionally cinnamony, fresh, and balanced rather than overly sweet (rated ~4.9 on Tripadvisor). Its signature is the 'onsdagssnegl' (Wednesday snail), an oversized cinnamon roll sold only on Wednesdays — roughly 4,000 of them weekly. The space is very small, with only a few bar stools, so most customers take pastries to go, and popular items sell out, confirming the curator's 'go early' advice.
